National Billiards Ranking System

                               Nominating and playing in a tournament                               5 points
                               Round Robin group first place                                                  20 points
                               Round Robin group second place                                           15 points
                               Round Robin group third place (4 or more in group)             10 points
                               Round Robin group fourth place (5 or more in group)          5 points
                               Losing Quarter-finalist                                                                 20 points
                               Losing Semi-finalist                                                                     40 points
                               Runner-up                                                                                      70 points
                               Winner                                                                                            100 points
 
                Bonus points will be awarded for high breaks
 
                                Each break of 50 or more                                                              1 point
                               Each break of 100 or more                                                           2 points
                               Each break of 200 or more                                                           4 points
                               Each break of 300 or more                                                           6 points
                               Each break of 400 or more                                                           10 points
                               Similarly adding 4 points for each 100 achieved
 
Tournament Status

• State and Territory Championships, and tournaments with prize pools from $1000 to $2999 – points x 0.5

There will be a limit of one event in the $1000 to $2999 category per state per year (not including State Championships). This may be reviewed in future years as the demand for tournaments increases.

• Tournaments with prize pools over $3000 (and Australian Open) – full points

• Australian National Championship and Oceania Championship – double points

ABSC may grant double ranking points status to other events as it sees fit.
 
Calculation of total                        
From the conclusion of the first event of each calendar year the points will counted as follows:
                               Current year - 100%
                               Previous year - 65%
                               Two years prior - 35%
                                Previous years – zero
 
For State and Territory Championships, points will be recorded in the list as they become available, but will only be added into the total once all events are completed, or on November 30th, whichever is sooner. These points will be carried in full through to the next calendar year.
