An advert appears offering to build a “Snooker Hall” of the Portakabin type with 5,232 sq/ft. of space. No excuse then to play billiards. You could put one in the field behind the house, if you are desperate to find a table.
Andrew Ricketts’s biography of Walter Lindrum is published. I am sure all you knowledgeable geezers have read this wonderful book that details the Great Man’s exploits. I especially love the story about Lindrum that in his later years he would only count breaks over 700. Never could quite get my head around his choice of 700 as his minimum break. Truly a genius at the game.
Jim Williamson of the Northern Snooker Centre is of the view that the short game, 100, 150, or 200 up would have potential Television appeal. In such a tournament Mark Wildman defeated Michael Ferreira: 2-1. In the semis, Ferreira defeated Alf Nolan 2-0, while Wildman defeated Herbert Beetham 2-1. Perhaps JW was ahead of his time in this regard.
