George Ganim Jnr. wins the Australian Amateur Championship at his first attempt. He had 6 double centuries in the tournament, defeating F Harris by 1433 to 706 in the play-off, for an average of 23.2.
Herbert Beetham,aged 67, defeated Norman Dagley in the quarter final of the Eng. Am. By 1162 to 1086, Dagley coming from 367 down before Beetham closed out the match.

In two Billiard challenges Bob Close defeated Rex Williams by 982 to 854, Close running out with 80 unfinished, while in the other match Dagley defeated John Barrie by 1146 to 1113, Dagley closed out the match with an unfinished break of 177. It was said of Barrie’s game that it was “elegant and rhythmic” with a masterly control of the cannon-pot cannon sequences.
