Michael Ferreira wins the World Am. Title in Delhi defeating Norman Dagley in a titanic battle by 2725 to 2631, with Ferreira leading by over 900 towards the end of the 3rd. session before Dagley closed the gap with 194 and 223 to leave him trailing by 502 going into the final session. Dagley then rolled in breaks of 296 and 281 to trail by only 48 only for Ferreira to conjure up a break of 244 to close out the match.
Ferreira was the outstanding player of the tournament based on his prolific scoring. He had 8 triples, 17 doubles and 33 single centuries in the round robin matches. Then in the semis and final he had a 600+, two 500+, two 300+ breaks, 4 breaks over 200, and ten century breaks. In his match against Bob Close in the round robin he averaged 123.6 scoring one 400+, two 300+, four 200+ and three 100+ breaks. Dagley as runner up averaged 31.3 for the final round.
Willie Thorne has now 18 Maximums.
Joe Davis’s table has now ended up in the Post Office Supplies Club in Swindon. They won it in a competition.
Under the two pot rule 1898-1964 Robert Marshall holds all the records for Break, Two and four average and two and four hour aggregate scores. Ferreira, under the 5 pot rule 1968 to 1979 holds all the same records, and also under the three pot rule 1979-, except the two hour aggregate that is held by Agrawal.
Rex Williams regained the World Professional Billiards title by defeating Mark Wildman by 3000 to 1785. After the match Williams complained about the table with its unforgiving pockets, reflected in the poor quality of the breaks. Williams had three doubles and Wildman one in the semi, and aside from that not much else.
Dagley wins the Eng. Am. Title against Bob Close by 4208 to 2169 in the 10 hour final. Dagley had a 400+, and two doubles in the final and averaged 51.3 for that match.
20 year old Geet Sethi appears on the scene defeating Ferreira in one of the Indian Title matches by 1629 to 1428. Sethi in his match against Agrawal trailed by 400 with 75 minutes left in the game, then delivered breaks of 188,140, 277 and 271 and finally a 544 to win that match by 2269 to 1305

Kingsley Kennerley died aged 68. In his career he made double centuries at 14, had a four hour aggregate in the Eng. Am of 3760, and a break of 549 under the two pot rule. In 1939 he had a four session aggregate of 4324. In his career he won two Eng. Am Snooker titles and four consecutive Billiard titles.
Robbie Foldvari wins the Australian Amateur Billiards title defeating George Ganim by 1975 to 1348. Foldvari had one triple and four 100+ breaks in the final and Ganim had four 100+.
